I’m proud of this project because it is driven strongly by my Community value. My desire to strengthen the MIT community is the soul of this project.
What is it?
Welcome to the MIT (Mysterious) Book Exchange!
If you could pick one book to recommend to someone at MIT, what would you choose? This spring, the MIT (Mysterious) Book Exchange will give you a chance to share your favorite read with the MIT community, and to take home a book chosen by someone else.
The MIT (Mysterious) Book Exchange, led by an MIT graduate student, aims to strengthen community relationships and foster a love of reading. We invite MIT community members to recommend a favorite book, and tell us why you love it so much. We’ll collect as many of the books as we can, and community members are invited to join us in the Bush Room on March 19 to browse through all the books and pick one to take home. But there’s a twist: All the books will be wrapped and organized by genre, with only the recommendations written by community members printed and showing on the books. Your selection will be based solely on the book genre and recommendation. We’ll be serving some light refreshments to help you keep up your strength while you browse.
Please visit https://calendar.mit.edu/event/MBX for more event information and to nominate your favorite book.
Thanks to the Community Services Office, the Graduate Student Council, the Literature Section, the MIT Libraries, and Mind Hand Heart for their support.
